Yahoo Messenger and Skype as Communication Tools in the Learning Activities

Nowadays, having a communication tools is important for both teacher and students because it helps teacher to foster social interaction and enhance the learning process. As a student, I do realize that having a communication tools is a must because it will be used for communication media in the learning activity among teacher and students. Then, as we know, we live in the digital era and there are many communication tools that we can use, such as yahoo messenger, skype, google chat, facebook, blogs and many more. All of them can be downloaded easily from our computer. In the future, if I become a teacher, I will use those communication tools in my class because it will help me to check my students understanding about the topic that we have learned. It will also help me to share information about the topic that we have learned and we are going to learn, so the students can get the materials easily.

To make it possible, I will use yahoo messenger and skype to interact with each member in my class. I will introduce them with yahoo messenger and skype. Then, I will tell them the functions of using yahoo messenger and skype in the learning activity. I will also ask them to make an account, so they will be able to interact with each other. In there, they can have a conversation and they can ask anything that they have not understood in the discussion forum. Next, as a teacher, it is our duty to answer their questions and make a good explanation to make a better understanding among them.

On the other hand, as a teacher, we should introduce them one by one because sometimes, it makes them confused about what communication media that they should use. First, we should make an agreement with our students. In my class, I will use yahoo messenger as the first and skype as the second. Then, I will tell them what media that I will use to make sure that every member in the classroom get involved in the learning activity.

In short, those are my plans in my class. It will take a little time to make every students get involved, but for me, it will be better if you try and hopefully, it brings positive impacts on classroom activity.
